Innovation Committee Charter

A charter template covering an innovation committee's mandate, membership, decision authority and meeting cadence, so the committee governs rather than merely convenes.

Innovation committees frequently lack the one thing that makes them useful: authority to commit resources. Without it, they become a review body that slows work without unblocking it.

This charter defines the mandate, who sits on the committee and why, what it can approve at what threshold, how often it meets, and what it explicitly does not decide.

Revisit it annually. Committee composition tends to outlive its rationale.
