BOSTON — InnoLead, a fast-growing media and events company with a laser focus on helping the world’s largest companies build their competitive advantage, has announced eight winners of the 2018 Impact Awards, which honor companies that have achieved extraordinary outcomes related to their corporate innovation programs. The winners are AMN Healthcare, Cisco, Citi Ventures, DBS Bank, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS, Medtronic, Revera Living, and USAA, for an aerial imaging tool that helps homeowners quickly evaluate damage and submit claims after a hurricane.
There are also six runner-up companies in the 2018 Impact Awards. They are Airbus, Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, MetLife, Northwestern Mutual, UNICEF, and USAA (for a different initiative related to using text messages to encourage customers to save more).
The InnoLead editorial team first narrowed the applicant pool down to a group of 30 finalist companies. These 30 companies were then evaluated on their overall value and impact by a panel of executives from companies such as Home Depot, LinkedIn, and Suffolk Construction.
“What we aim to highlight with the Impact Awards is not just clever concepts or cutting-edge technology, but things that are actually delivering impact in large businesses — and often, to society as well,” said Scott Kirsner, CEO and editor-in-chief of InnoLead. “UNICEF was a runner-up for a polio education curriculum that used a comic book and flash cards to make sure people in far corners of the world understand why vaccination is vital. Revera won for an employee idea challenge that is helping make the company’s senior living facilities safer, and keep residents happier. And Medtronic, the medical device company, won for an initiative that helps doctors in emerging countries remotely monitor patients with hypertension, using mobile phones and automated blood pressure machines.”
The winners will be celebrated and more details about their initiatives will be presented at Impact 2018, the innovation conference designed exclusively for corporate innovators. Impact 2018 will take place in Boston, MA from October 16-18, 2018. The presenting sponsor of Impact 2018 is KPMG LLP. To meet the people behind the winning initiatives, register for Impact 2018. (Please note that only corporate attendees will be admitted.)
Applications for the 2019 Impact Awards will open in January 2019 and will be available online here. The 2019 Impact Award winners will be recognized at Impact 2019, hosted in San Francisco on October 23-24, 2019 at the Parc 55 Hilton Hotel.
